I am curious to uncover the connection between our internal and external realities. I believe our internal worlds and emotional experiences are so complex that we cannot describe them in language. I also believe that our unique experiences hold a common thread that I wish to explore between the viewer and the art. I like to think I’m suspending or dissecting fleeting experiences, freezing them in time for us to contemplate a little longer. I work intuitively and experimentally, avoiding preconceived concepts, with the intention of channeling something deeper that exists beyond language and logic. My hope is for the artwork to stir something within viewers through these open-ended abstractions so they can explore that stirred space within themselves and can then connect it to life. I think many of us have lost a connection to our innermost selves, and thus to each other. I consider my work a stance against that current and an open invitation for the viewer to do the same.
