My work mainly consists of figurative ink drawings as well as acrylic and oil mixed media paintings. I thoroughly enjoy using recycled found objects in my pieces and building up multiple layers of different mediums. For many years, I have created countless portraits that were commissioned, usually to honor loved ones. I have always loved being a part of such special connections between people in this small way. Listening to the way that people talked about one another and the specific requests they had about how their loved ones should be portrayed has been such a warm and rewarding part of my career as an artist. In my recent work, my focus has been on my mental health journey, using art as therapy. Although this work is much more personal, it has been my goal to create emotionally intimate pieces that viewers can feel close to and can relate to.
